Sans hood scoop I’d drive it.

Yeah, I read the post before really looking at the picture and was assuming there would be a big honking cowl induction scoop on it, as seems to be required on all old Chevys. Nope, Boss 429 style.

Ford stripes, too.

Yeah, gotta love a 6" cowl hood with a bone stock intake setup.

I kind of understand a modest one on second-gen Camaros or certain Chevelles, and the like since their hood lines are very low and restrict the choice of intake. For example an Edelbrock Air Gap won’t fit under the Camaro hood. But every single old Chevy including trucks? That’s a bit much.

I can deal with the non functional hood scoop, but the X-tream badge has to go.

It doesn’t even look like it is functional.

I’d take that off too, but at least that was a later S-10 thing.

It is not, it’s a stick on.

I like cowl hoods, but only if there’s a reason to justify it, like a taller manifold.

With scoop I’d drive it. Provided it goes somewhere.

I just think the scoop cheapens an otherwise clean build.

the scoop would probably look better if it didn’t have the red stripe too. One or the other maybe - stripe or scoop, but not both.

Stripes are actually a really nice bronze-orange color. The scoop is just plastic junk IMO.

I used to work at a place that sold those. It was amazing how many people bought them. One of the dumbest things we sold.
